Reaches 1,000,000 Cycles on Life Tests (and It's Still Going Strong!)

 

One million life test cycles certainly sounds like a lot, but just how large of a number is that?

Think of it this way: if you had $1,000,000 in $1 bills and stacked them one on top of the other, the stack would measure 358 feet tall, or roughly the height of a 35-story building.

When Heil engineers set out to design the heat exchangers for their latest furnace models, they knew they had to be durable units with exceptional longevity. To meet their objectives, the experts at the North American Residential HVAC Headquarters in Indianapolis leveraged model-based designs.

They used sophisticated models to identify potential problem areas. And, after extensive testing and analysis, they launched the final products.

 

The Heil team knew these new heat exchangers were robust, but then came the BIG QUESTION: how long could they last?

To determine their potential life span, the engineers sent these heat exchangers to the lab for accelerated life testing.

After fifteen years of accelerated life testing, they still don't know how long these new heat exchangers will last because they haven't reached the end of life yet!
